He didn't recognize me!
In my job I do presentations to new employees during their orientation meetings. Yesterday I did a presentation for at department. I haven't been there since November for the last one.
Allen, the coordinator, looked at me as I entered the room and sat down to wait my turn. He introduced me to the group. "Emily is going to explain your health and dental insruance and other benefits" I did my presentation.
Afterwards Allen says. How much have you lost? I didn't recognize you when you first walked in the room!

Oh Emily isn't it wonderful?
I see my clients yearly for their "insurance check-up" and it feels so good when my clients comment. When a client comes into the building they are go to the receptionist desk and she calls my office to let me know they are there. When I go into the reception area and greet the client they usually stare at me a moment and then follow me to my office. It's rare for a man to make a comment other than "you're looking good". But ladies will comment on my "massive" weight loss, tell me how beautiful I look, and they will tell me they know it isn't easy to loose weight and I'm doing wonderfully. Just last week a lady was in and I at the beginning I noticed she looked directly at my name plate and then picked up my business card, read it and put it back. Then she looked at me and said you are ________ aren't you? You look so different, you look so healthy. I told her I am healthier and I feel great....better than I've felt in years.
It'll be interesting when I see my parents this coming summer. I haven't seen them since 2 weeks after my surgery. We don't discuss things like weight when we talk on the phone and since they don't even know I had surgery (I just told them I'm seeing a nutritionist and eating healthier) they're going to be surprised when they see me.
Emily I know exactly what Allen meant when he said he didn't recognize you. When I think of you I think of how you looked when I met you...the day after my surgery. Everytime I see your avatar I'm surprised at how different you look. You've always been a pretty lady and now you have a healthy look to you. Congratulations!
