"tool" without instructions...

Have you ever been in a situation that you know so much, or thought that you did... I now feel like i have a tool (surgery) with no instructions... I am glad that I had surgery when i did (don't know if i had made it much longer) but I felt jipt in that i didn't have much guidance after surgery... I was never given a calorie amount, carb amount, prtoein amount.... really didn't have ANY nutritional guiance (other then a few handouts.... ) and that I would be eating less... and exercising more... I am going to try to make an apointment with Dr. Loggin's Nut but it seems like it is going to take forever (because i already had surgery and things are different... blah blah blah...)and I want to know NOW (even just the basics...) so that I can starting doing things right NOW!!

I am just feeling frustrated and upset... i want to do this and reach my goal so bad but i just don't know the right way and putting energy into someone that isn't working is just getting exhausting...

If you are interested, I could copy the "bible" our nut gave us and get a copy to you. Not sure how much it would help, but it could be a starting point.

I can only imagine how frustrating it is to have a tool and not having the "instruction" book on how to use it!  (It's kinda like Oceanlady's drill without the charger..........btw....you find that yet?)

Feel free to ask any questions here too........we'll do what we can to help!

I know your frustration, I did have some nutritionist's visits but they didn't really give me the type of help and support that I was looking for or needing.

Ruth sounds like she can get you the info you are looking for NOW!!!  Reading the boards and asking specific questions has been my best guide throughout my process.

My nut doesn't have me counting calories, but does advise around 60 gms of protein a day, 2 servings veggies, 1-2 fruit, 1-2 carb servings and 64 oz of water.

Servings for me, at this point are 2 oz protein, 2-3 tablespoons of veggie, a 1/2 apple or 1/2 banana, Carbs a serving is 1/2 slice of bread, a couple of Tablespoons of rice or potato.

I eat at:
breakfast
lunch
dinner
evening snack
