Hi Cheryl.
I'm so sorry you've been having so many problems.  I cannot even begin to imagine what it's been like for you.  I don't totally understand the band.  When I first looked into it I wasn't interested because of the upkeep...meaning the fills.
You have educated me quite a bit in the band...for example I didn't know an unfill was possible until you mentioned it before.
So from what I understand from this post your doctor not only put in the amount of saline that was missing but also added what your fill this time would have been?  That sounds like a lot of "fill" at once but then again I really don't know anything about it.  I thought the fills were supposed to be a gradual thing???
Cheryl I wish I could help you in some way.  It's upsetting to me that you or anyone should have to go through all that you have.  I'm so glad you have found OH and you have us to lean on.
Good luck to you Cheryl.  You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Maybe you should consider changing to a different doctor, who has done more bands. I am sorry that you are having so much trouble, it is not supposed to be like that. Try to keep your chin up and make sure they help you get where you need to be.

I am so  sorry you are having such a hard time  Cheryl   I  sure hope that  they dont have to take  the fill out again.   I wish they would find your sweet spot and soon.

I  know  we hear in bangor that the band patients  believe that they need  more support.   But it is so hard when there are not many that have it done.   And then   of course there are  band paitients that dont want people to know so that makes the pool of support even smaller.   We live in such a small state as far as numbers go.

I  wish you well and  hope you  make it thru the nite  with no  puking

You must have been reading my thoughts today - I was planning to pm you tonight to check on you.

I'm sorry that this isn't getting any better for you. I don't understand why saline would be missing - to me that would indicated an equipment problem, which is not unheard of with the bank.

I know it's difficult to switch surgeons - but have you ever thought about a consult with another doc that works more with the band?

This makes me crazy for you. I just wanna fix it....but I don't know how.

Cheryl,
I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I hope last night was OK for you. How frustrating!

I'm somewhat familiar with the band, but didn't realize that it takes so many fills and that there can be such a drastic change from fill to fill.
I considered the band, until I learned that it meant being "married" to my surgeon in Bangor for care. That's a 1 1/2 hr ride one way for me.
