13lbs!!
I'm so excited! I lost 13lbs from my last NUTappt 3 weeks ago. I was so determained to go in there with a good loss cause my previous appt i lost ZERO pounds in a little over a month! I'm glad I hadn't gained cause it was through christmas but it was a letdown so to have a big loss was awsome! I'm so excited :) My last appt is finally coming up too. I had to reschedule my sleep consult back in december and they couldn't fit me in until early march! Does anyone know if you have a consult that you will definately need a sleep study or will they determain it then? I'm just so happy that it seems to be coming to an end and only a few more months...fingers crossed

I just went through this whole process. I went for my consult. They put a monitor on my finger to check oxygen level. The doctor comes in, he asks you some questions about your sleep pattern. How many times you awaken during the night and so forth. He will decide then, from your answers if he/she is going to send you for a sleep study. The sleep study itself was ok. If you can fall asleep anywhere and with dozens of wires attached to your head, chestt and legs then you're golden LOL. I did manage to sleep a couple of hours during my sleep study and the results were astounding. So now I go to sleep looking like I'm wearing a fighter pilots mask and sounding like Darth Vader lol. Good luck with your consult. Its really no big deal.
I had a sleep study for Dr. Loggins because I was sleeping poorly and he wondered if I had sleep apnea. He sent a referral out and I had the study done and then had to go back to the sleep study doctor for results. I had borderline sleep apnea but because I was having surgery he did not have me use the mask. The results were sent to Dr. Loggins office. The test is easy. They hook up a ton of wires and you try to sleep. The glue stuff they use is a mess and hard to wash out of your hair.
Good luck. You're almost there!

Congrats on your weight loss! That's AWESOME!!!
At the sleep study/consult, they asked tons of questions about sleep patterns, snoring, stuff like that. Depending on how you answer is how they determine if you need a sleep study. I had to have 2 sleep studies because I snored! The first study, they determined that I had mild obstructive sleep apnea, but I didn't have enough episodes for them to titrate the cpap that night. SOOOOOO...I had to go back for a second sleep study so they could determine how much pressure I needed with the cpap. Honestly.........I slept better WITHOUT the thing than with it! Now that I've lost weight, I no longer need the cpap (got rid of it after surgery, though I DID have to bring it with me to the hospital when I HAD surgery!) If they tell you that you need one, wear it! It has a "smart card" in it that the doc's office usually wants you to bring with you to follow up appts so they can see how compliant you are with it and how you are doing with it! The sleep study itself is no big deal, IF you can sleep with all the wires attached to you, as others have said!
Hope you don't need one! GOOD luck!!!!!!
