Guess what???

Looks like I may have the beginnings of an ulcer again!!!!!      NOT!!!!!   I started having pain again over the weekend and I told myself that I would call if it wasn't gone today.
The pain was still there this morning, so I called the surgeon's office. After playing phone tag for half the day, I spoke to the PA and he put me back on Prevacid.  If the pain isn't gone in 1-2 days, I have to call back and he'll put me back on the Carafate too!   I think I'm ready to just STAY on the Prevacid!!!!!   I don't like this discomfort!  Oh well........this too shall pass!!!!!!!

Ruth, that stinks!!!  Maybe you should stay on the prevacid.  My Dr. has me on it and I will probably always be.  Hope you feel better...

I understand though, who wants to take medicine (and pay for it) if you don't have to.  But, I once decided to stop taking it because it was so expensive and I ended up with ulcerative sores all the way up my esophagus in to my mouth.  So not worth it.  Be careful and I hope you feel better soon.

i'll be a year out on the 18th and am still on previcid. i'm almost afraid to stop for fear the pain will come back. knocks the wind right out of ya.

I totally hear you.  I was on Prilosec for the last few years and Dr. Loggins had me stop it at my one year checkup, but guess what happened?  I ended up in the hospital two weekends ago for two days until they could figure out that I had a major ulcer.  Not Dr. Loggins fault, though.  He was absolutely wonderful, he came home early from a medical conference in New York when he found out I was admitted.  I just love him.  Anyway, I am now on Carafate 4x's a day plus my Prilosec.  Oh, well at least I know what the pain is now.  LOL.  Missi

hope everyone else gets over this ulcer stuff soon too!  I'm a little better today so I'm sure it'll all be fine!

I have been off Prevacid since my 6month visit and knock on wood,  no ulcers here.
