any one a member of the bangor y?
I don't go to the Bangor Y, but I do go to the Dover-Foxcroft YMCA and they are wonderful. I have mobility issues and they have a lift chair that helps me get into and out of the pool. They have an arthritic swim program that is very helpful and have people of all ages, abilities and sizes in the class. I feel very comfortable there and I am super obese. I know that the Y will be an even bigger part of my life once I get approved for surgery and after!
Good luck and take care,
Beverly
ETA: Because my doctor signed a prescription that pool exercise would be theraputic for me I got a discounted "therapy rate".

Sara you mentioned you're going through EMMC. I remember they offer membership somewhere in Bangor. I cannot remember where or for how long. It was mentioned in our PT class. I admit I didn't pay much attention because I live too far away to go. Contact Lynn and I'm sure she'll be able to give you the details.
