I am checking another goal off my list! I went downhill skiing yesterday at Shawnee Peak in Bridgton,  I had a great time!  I only spilled a few times.  But did great on the turns!  I have decided that skis and a conveyor belt (they call it the Magic Carpit) and me just aren't friends. I much prefer the chair lift on the Bunny Trail.  But I fell REALLY hard both times I went down it .  Next time I am renting a helmet!   I hope to go again next month, after I get my tax refund money.

PS: Sorry I haven't been around. Computer has been down for a few days.  Lets just say I tried to download a new version of Windows XP and deleted EVERYTHING off my computer!! argh! I still don't know how I did that!   Oh and I saw "Slumdog Millionaire" today.  Great Movie!

Congratulations!!! I went a long time and many pounds ago.  It terrified me, so it is not one of my goals.  I would, however, like to be able to go cross country skiing again, someday.

Hooray for reaching one of your goals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW That is one of my goals as well. I used to ski when I was a teenager about 150 pounds ago. I loved it, so much fun.  That is wonderful that you actually acheived that goal. I do plan on acheiving mine some winter soon as well.

Downhill skiing is so much fun...or it was until I did my knees in with it - good for you trying something new. Sky diving is on my list - wanna go?

I definately want to try skydiving!!!  Maybe this summer...no skiing, when I fall down I cannot get up and everyone flys right by me not bothering to ask if I need help!!  But that was years ago...maybe I could try the bunny trail....

Good for you,my girlfriend...I am sooooooooooo good at Lodge-perfected that in High school and continued the grand tradition as I hung out with my kids when they skiied at Shawnee or Bretton Woods.
I have sky dived-in college, and got certified in SCUBA so feel I did my adrenelin junkie stuff when my knees and bones could stand it.still love to swim and snorkle. Don't know if I really want to ski again,..it does take place in the winter, outdoors after all.  By the way, you were 10 minutes from my house!!
CHECK- one more wonderful thing that WLS has helped you accomplish!!!

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

That is absolutely wonderful!  I'm glad you went and it sounds like you had a blast.  Next winter I plan on trying skiing for the 1st time.  We'll have to make it a gathering!
