you know, no wonder we are all so confused with Diets.  one day they tell us one thing and the next day its something else.  Like, when given all my paper work at Dr's they said, SUgar free, sugar free.. at support group I asked, well Fat Free is lower in Calories?? ohhh, the Nut says, probably FF is better for you. (BAND)  WEll, thanks for sharing??  better late then never.  all the paper work I was giving was for RNY.  you think maybe, if they do the Lap Band, we should have our own paperwork.  so today on the today show, they are saying if you drink coffee for breakfast, tea for lunch and a glass of wine for dinner, your body won't absorb Iron??? I think last week they were talking about Coffee being good for you, it fights cancer.  WTF???  pardon my french.  Low carb, low fat, low sugar, more calories, less calories.  geee, is anyone confused like me? NO wonder people give up and just stay FAT... grrrrrr

Ok

Basic   we need  so much protein a day  at least  30 gr
We need  or should drink  4 glasses of milk a day  and that will give you  another 28 gr of protein

We need to keep calories under  1200 if we can  even  band if you want  to lose

Can have all the veggies we want.
No  booze  soda  beer  is just common sense.
Lots of water  you can even have  up to 24 ounces of  caffienated coffee a day.

So  if  you are like me and dont journal  and then dont lose cause i  eat to many calories it is my own fault.

I backed my diet  back to the mushie soft stage this week and I have lost  2 pounds since saturday   woo hoo.

Breakfast     container applesauce
                       yoplait key lime  yogurt

Lunch will be   one cup   choc pudding with   protein powder in it

supper  not sure yet maybe a hot dog  no bread and   another pudding.

already had   two glasses  carb countdown  milk  will have another two after supper.

I am not hungry  only head hunger so i am trying real hard to get to my first  goal of  180  by   my vacation in  February.

Dont listen to all them  Cheryl  just  diet diet diet lol  Have a great day

Thank you, I know what i'm suppost to have.  I'm just saying i'm tired of all the information that they give us and how confusing it can be.  I take it you don't think there is too many conflicting diets and information out there?  It just makes it very frustrating for the Average person, how they suppose to trust or know which "Expert" to listen to.

If you listen to all those idiots out there that think they have all the answers you will go crazy.

No i dont believe  in everything  they tell us  because tomorrow they change there minds.

It is the same   old  thing  from  back when i was young.   Eat   healthy  and exercise  and  dont put unhealthy things in the body.     Yeah right  since when did we ever listen to them anyways.

Have a great day!!!  lol

oh, **** you know what they said today?  If you drink your water too fast it don't absorb into your body, your better off drinking less and slower, then more and fast... and save on toilet paper

I think it truly is as simple as total calories in (whether SF, FF, regular, whatever) vs. total out and be sure to get enough protein and fruits and veggies. Whatever you have left for calories after your protein you can plan accordingly.  I know since I started journaling a few days ago I am SHOCKED at what I put in my mouth. Duh, if I eat 2800 calories a day, of course I'm goint to be fat.  And I KNOW BETTER too.

But I get what you are saying, the average Joe the Plummer who doesn't spend as much time obsessing about this as we do would be confused listening to the stuff out there.  Just go back to the food pyramid. That's what I say!

It's confusing as all get out!!!!!  I TOTALLY agree with you!   I also agree with the others....gotta have more calories burned than eaten....protein first!   Do what feels right, be healthy, drink the fluids (however you care to do them) and pray for the best!  That's all I do...Pray before I get on the scale so that it heads in the right direction!  haha

I wouldn't listen to most of the crap flying around out there........it's WAY too confusing and they change their minds every hour it seems!!!!!!

No, I understand completely what you were trying to say..... You are mad that they said to just follow the RNY diet. I just thought you would be interested on what the real deal should be.

ETA:  And I understand your frustration.  Diets contradict themselves.
