woo hoo!  Thank you for saying that I look young!  Actually I am 40ish (closer to "ish" than 40) and I have been using a walker for 2 years now.  I have no idea how the hip surgery will go, because at this point, no doctor will talk to me about it until I lose a lot of weight.

I told Ray what you said and he just grinned.  He is a very supportive man and although he is not gung-ho about me having this surgery, he understands why I want to take such drastic action and says that he will be right by my side, no matter what.

Thanks mama!

funny how that works, I have to exercise to loose weight, and my arthritis in my feet hurt, but to get them to feel better I have to loose weight and exercise.  wow, that made me confused??  40ish is still young and you aren't done living yet, so you get that surgery, loose weight, get your hips fixed and probably in a year or 2 you'll be like a 20 year old again.  One step at a time.

Hi Beverly!

Welcome to the board. Heh.....I want my sex life back too....but I need to find a man....hehe....

I can relate - before I had my surgery a year ago - I could barely walk from my house to the car - grocery shopping was hell.....my life was hell. It's been amazing how quickly things keep getting better and better.

I admit I am a lurker!  I am new to all of this, I was banded on the 30th of December.  I have been doing well, however weight loss is slow.  I have read that I should not really expect much until after my first fill, which is on the 9th of February.  I am also a little intimidated because there are so few lap band people on this site. No sure that I really fit in.

there are actually quite a few banders here, but most of them are Lurkers.  that is why I am trying to bring you all out.  I was here pretty much by myself for a long time.  I did have one woman *****ally helpped me, but I was interested in the same dr. cause that will be a "HUGE" difference in your "restriction"  I needed 7 fills before I even felt anything.  but, from what I understand your dr. will fill you much quicker.  When you going for your first fill?  YOu really should go to the Band forum to get more information.  they are very helpful, and you will see that "Everyone" is different.  I'm here if you need any advice or have any questions, i'll do my best.  Welcome and dont' be intimidated.

Hi My Name is Debbie and I am a lurker, I read almost every day when I check my e-mail I must say I have learned alot here. I am have been around for a year or so now. I have posted before using my username oracloped, I just recently learned how to change my signature, Duh!
This process can take alot of time and commitment, I guess that is one way to weed out the ones who think that this journey is the easy way out..I have done enough reading to know this is in no way the easy way out, I admire you ladies for your courage and perseverence, I just hope I can do as well as all you guys, you are all quit an inspiration.
