For Dr Cobean and Dr Wolff patients it is called a pre-op diet. Not really a full liquid diet.

Rose,

You are allowed 1 frozen "diet" meal a day on the "Portland" 2 week pre op diet. It isn't a liquid diet for the program in Portland.

Way back when I did the 2 week pre op diet we weren't allowed to have the frozen "diet" meals, but they changed that shortly after I had my surgery and Kathi G from here was able to. We had to do chicken or fish the size of a deck of cards. Its better now than it was back then.

Everything you wrote sounds like you're doing good so far. We weren't allowed to do the sugar free pudding, but we were allowed the sugar free jello, as much as we wanted and all the raw veggies and sugar free dressing we wanted. I lost 8 pounds on the 2 week pre op diet. I was hungry every freaken day of it. I thought that 2 week diet was the worst part of the process for me, even with the complications I had, I would not wanna feel like I felt during those 2 weeks ever again.

Good luck to you on your journey.

well, that sounds tough, but seems alot better then the liquid diet.  once you got this figured out you will do fine.  and done before you know it.  good luck and keep the faith, you can do this.

Oh yeah, Dori is right.  Skip the pudding and go for the jello.  I am not sure about the Cottage Cheese either.    Check it out at www.cascobaysurgery.com
