Hi All
Well tomorrow is the big day where I am going for my 2 weeks and I am really nervous about it and at the same time I know that I only have a little bit more time and I will be making a new life for myself. But I do have a couple of questions . First can you have coffee in the morning and I have the diet about the protein shakes but do I have them during the day and than have the Frozen meal for dinner but do I have to eat all the other stuff as well as the frozen meal like the fruit , vegetable milk fat and meat or just the frozen dinner. I know that sound funny but I am not sure and also I am having the lap-band and I was wondering about how long you are lay-ed up before you get back to exercising and that stuff. I hope that nobody minds but I know that I will be asking alot of question for here on out .Like I don't know how to post my photo and so the weight tracker . No so good with a computer some times.
Hi Rose,
it's is almost here! For the pre op diet, I know it has changed since I had my surgery. But go to www.cascobaysurgery.com and click on bariatric surgery. The diet is explained on the website. When I had it, I could have slimfast or protein shake for breakfast and lunch and for dinner can have 3 oz chicken, fish or lean cuisine for dinner. all the veggies and salad you want throughout the day. I think you can have coffee but should be caffiene free. Hope this helps. I would say I was feeling better and could have gone back to work (desk job) within 2 wks. Good luck to you!

Best wishes.
I would ease off the caffeine now- go decaf. I had a terrible coffee withdrawl headache after my RNY for the 2 days of sipping water only.

Just to let you all know that yes caffeine is bad for RNY patients but did you know that Decaf Coffee can be just as bad if not worse. I looked it up awhile ago after something Summer said. The process that they put the coffee through to decaffeinate it makes it create even more acid in the pouch than the coffee plain. If it were me I would just switch to herbal teas that are naturally caffeine free. You really do not want to risk the ulcers that can come about because of the caffeine and or Ulcers.
