Plastic Surgery consultation today!

I could probably get a quicker consult but I need to be 18 months out from rny and document rashes before my insurance will cover it. so, i have 7 more months til i could technically have surgery. that would be around august and that's my busy time at work so i'm hoping for a february surgery. that's my slowest time of the year and this february is too soon.

so, therefore, i've elected to wait til november to start my process. i'm sure he could see me soon if i wanted. i'm not sure how far he's booking appointments.

Oh of course, duh!! 

Congrats Kathi!  I'm happy that it's working out for you! Please keep us posted!  No belly button!  I'd have to think about that one!  (Just call me weird!!!)

Yeah, the no belly button thing....that bugs me.....stupid I know - but what if after I got a flat tummy I want to get my belly button pierced? What no belly button - no piercing? Ok....maybe I'm getting a little long in the tooth for a bb piercing...but it's something I would think about. 

This is very exciting - how long would you be out of commission with this?

We just go a new health care provider at work so I need to find out what they will cover for me and then it's off to a PS for me - I'm getting tired of pants not fitting because of my skin.

Hey Kathi congradulations on the result.. you are very brave to do this. But it would rather have no belly button then a panti...I dont mean to be mean please dont anyone take it that way. im just to chicken to have it done. hubby says i dont need it done. not that he pays for any of it.

What were trying not to be mean about? I don't think you were mean?  Would you deal with having no belly button?  

Kathy that is so great!  You must be super excited about all of this.  I thought about it, but I am not suire if it would be covered since I haven't had a single rash.  If I had things go wrong it would be easy.  For mine you must have lost over 50 lbs...easy enough, and kept it off for over 6 months...already done that.  And have tried everything for rashes etc.  Maybe I should try the "emotional" angle.  I am all distraught about it hanging and it is making me depressed (not really, but they don't know).  I have a feeling if I did get it I would be paying for it.  I am pretty good at hiding it now.

I have heard of insurance companies covering for the emotional thing..  Build your case, go to the doc!!  just have him document your feelings. Don't give up!

I plan on it.  Hopefully something will come of it eventually.
