Aproved and ready to roll....questions

After only 2 days BCBS approved me!   Boy that felt good to write.   I gave up a few months ago thinking it would not happen.  My husbands insurance co changed and after working with Cigna for 7 months and jumping thru their hoops I was concerned BC BS would have different hoops.   I have lost weight becasue I needed to do something for myself and was worried about falling into a depression if I didn't.   I keep waiting for the phone call from Dr. office...OOPS we made a mistake it was another patient that we should have called, or OOPS you lost too much weight they changed their minds....I've lost about 15lbs.

Where do I go on this site to find out more about pre-op and post-op in Maine.   Dr Trieu is my surgeon and we are looking at a Friday Feb 13 date...yes I said Friday the 13th...good thing I am not superstitious!   I have all my dates with Nate and my last consoult with Huy.     I teach and am hoping to go back to work after February vacation...that will give me 10 days.

I look forward to hearing from anyone that has advice, suggestions, or ideas to make my post op a little smoother.

I would be careful about expecting to go back to work that soon from surgery.  Everyone reacts differently to the procedure.  I didn't have a lot of pain...it was tolerable anyways, so the first few weeks were good.  It was actually the 3rd week that hit me pretty hard....just totally wiped out.  I don't work right now but I'm glad I've had the time to recooperate and not had to return to work before I was ready.

There a great people on this site who are veterans with their surgeries and they post quite often.  You didn't say what type of surgery you will be having....Lap Band or RNY.  Or you can find a lot of info on the main forum or the forum specifically for the type of surgery you are going to have.

I didn't have any pain to speak of after surgery, but I was tired. It wasn't until the 3rd week that I stopped taking naps during the day.
I returned to work after being out 3 weeks post surgery. Don't ru**** It will be challenging to get your meals and fluids in.
