surgery date

Among my converstions with Dr. Toder's office was a phone call about schduling surgery. She wanted to have me on the schedule now and depending on the cat scan and lab test results we will continue with surgery or cancel.

My heart went into my shoes when the secretary told me. I am the eternal optomist, thinking I will wake up and this will be all gone.

So depending on testi results, Monday Jan 26 at 3PM I have a date with the day surgery department at EMMC. This is also the day I have my 3 month dietician's group meeting at 10AM. 2 reasons to travel to Bangor that day.

Why am I more nervous about this than my RNY surgery?  Maybe it's because it's still the unknown. I guess our vacation to Dallas/Houston in Feb is postponed for a while. Glad I procrastinated and didn't purchase the airline tickets yet. Orignally my thinking was that I wanted to wait and see how DH made out after his surgery. He is 6 weeks out on Monday, Jan 12. He's doing fine!  Has his 6 week dietician and surgeon meeting on Tuesday, JAn 13. I see the surgeon right after him that day. Another seeral reasons to travel to Bangor.

The unknown can stress you out more than anything I am thinking. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Praying that you will not need surgery to fix whatever it is that is making you feel so sick all the time, but also that if surgery is needed that you come out of it feeling better than you ever have.

I agree that the "unknown" is the worst part. But you are in good hands, and I pray for you it will all be over soon (and hopefully without surgery).  Good luck!!
