Endoscopy today

I still have not been able to keep any solids down. It's going on 1 1/2 weeks now.

I started phoning the surgeon's office on Monday. Lots of phone calls back and forth with the nurse. An endoscopy was ordered. The secretary would phone with the appointment. Monday evening I had no appointment. I phoned yesterday, first thing. The secretary told me the orders had been faxed to the gastroenterologist's office. It would take 2-3 days for them to get back with an appointment.  Here comes me getting firm and advocating for better.  With tears forming, I told her that wasn't acceptable. Within 1 hour the gastroenterology dept phoned with a time and instructions for the procedure.

So, it's to Bangor Dh and I go for a 2:15 check-in. Endoscopy for 3:15

I'm voting for stricture and ulcers. We'll see what the scope reveals.

I sure hope that one of my problems, a stricture, can be balooned open and resolve the "only goes in and out one way syndrome" I've had.  

Hmmmmm..... it this how bulemics feel? It sucks.

GOOD for you....sticking up for yourself!!!!!!  I'm SOO proud!  It's aweful what you've been through!!  Hope they find an "easy" solution for you!   I'll be thinking about you!

I'm so sorry so many of you guys are having these problems, you've all done everything possible and followed the rules for a reason.  I hope it turns out to be a quick and easy fix. Like Ruth Said, keep us posted.  Best of Luck to you.  Hugs, Cheryl

Good job for sticking to your guns and keeping at them about this.  I don't know why, but it seems like after surgery we have to fight harder to get the help we need, whereas, before they were right on top of things.  Anyway I wish you lots of luck Emily.  I know that its no fun being sick! I wish you the best and hope they find out what it is and do something to remedy the situation soon!  Good luck and please keep us posted.  Also please drive safe!  Hugs...Angela

Oh Emily, I hope that you don't have anything hard to fix. I'm not exactly sure what a stricture is, I assume it is some sort of scar tissue.  Hopefully you will be back to eating and feeling better soon.  Drive careful and keep us posted. We'll be thinking about you.
