how many of you adjust your calories with how much exercise you do? I just looked on a chart and it said I burned 300 calories today. so i was wondering if I add an extra 300 calories to my daily intake. I know lots of people are usually in the "Negative" but that's not healthy in my book. I was just wondering what you did?
well, I also posted this on the Band site and no one does, damn it.... I want more food. and I guess I dont' agree with one thing. if I burnt off 300 calories and ate 300 at the end of the day, why would I gain? it would come out to the same thing wouldn't it? I was just told by one poster that her friend ate 600 calories a day for 2 years and after that, if she had more then that she gainned weight. I need to ask the Nut about that one. (Not like i've been at 600 calories) but just curious??
When I told my nut that I log my menu on TheDailyPlate and wanted to know if it looked good. She told me to stick to LS/ LF and around 45-60gms pf protein. She doesn't want me to count calories.
TDP tells me that when I am eating normally for my pouch I have around 550-650 calories a day. I am getting in proteins in the 50's.
If you're still hungry-
#1 make sure it's truley body hunger and not head hunger. One way I remember from former WW days is to drink a glass of water. wait 15-20 mintues. Are you still hungry? It was hunger. Not hungry- it was head hunger.
#2 if you've had your share of proteins, fill up on low calorie veggies. V8 juice or some cabbage soup. They're good for you and will fill the void and give your tummy something to "work" on.
This loosing weight thing is all about the numbers. Unfortunately, our bodies are wonderful calculators and count every calorie that goes in and gets burned off. Darned- and I didn't think I was good at math!
Ruth is right- those of us w/ RNY have the advantage of small walnut to egg sized pouches and malabsorption. But even so it's still a math game.
Less calories in, more calories exercised off = weight loss.

I don't eat more if I exercise...still trying to lose weight..when I am stalled I increase exercise, not decrease calories.I think the adjustment to go up in calories comes from reaching goal and then not being able to maintain a weight, and continue losing beyond healthy...then reducing exercise and increasing calories is the name of the game. It is a balance sheet. For me, old thinking is "oh good, I exercised, I can eat that x,Y,Z whatever it was" and that pretty much got me to where I was, the vicious cycle of gain, lose, gain gain...etc.
