HELP! Been 3 year... need to revitalize myself
HELP!! I had my surgery 3 years ago and did great. I lost 120 pounds and was doing great. I have resently started to gain weight so I am re-doing the whole thing from the start (as if i'd just got out of the hospital...) so that I can jump start myself back into healthy again.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice? I am a college student, and a mother, so much of my "free" time is spent on homework (almost done school yeah!!) and scouts/watching my son play sports thus on my butt... plus its winter... I need exercise motivation (the eating part isn't too bad) and maybe even a friend near by that I could work out with... LISBON...

Hey there, I know of a few people in Lisbon who have had RNY. Do you work, or come into Lewiston? You can work this out, this whole process is such a brain learning process, more then a eating and stomach adjustment. The brain is the hard part. happy you have come and joined us. hope to see you around.
Yup, Classes are in Lewiston. My biggest problem (not really a problem but a joy) is the three little tag alongs that I have when I am not in school (and when they are not in school) and the lack of my own vehicle, for the next few weeks. I have a membership at Fitness World, but because of car problems I havn't been in a while... thats part of my problem too... I make excuses after excuses... "I can't cuz or I'll do it tomorrow... yada yada... " I mean, some of them are good excuses (and reasonable) but sometimes it just need someone else that understands.... I did the surgery after a lot of thought and understanding, and did great for a while just getting back into bad habbits and need a push to get out of them... and would like to get closer to my goal weight (still 100 pounds away but down 100 too).but hey, understanding I have an issue is the first step, right??
have you heard of Leslie Sansone, she has walking tapes, DVD's. they are great, and you can walk right at home, the new one I just got actually has a little running in it. You can get one for under $20, my first one I got for like $7. but somehow lost it during xmas. I think it was put away with xmas music. they really are great for maine winters, and for someone like you who can always leave your house. check it out.
You can do this!! I know how hard going to school is, being a single mother, working and doing an internship is.....BELIEVE ME.....YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! Like Cheryl said....Leslie Sansone is wonderful, she has a one mile workout all the way up to four miles I believe, I have them and do them, the music is quite catchy!! I do it with 4lb weights in each hand.....the nut said to add some kind of weight when I walk, and it is not like I am going outside this time of year!!!lol The wind is just howling right now.....I don't think my furnace has stopped running in three days!!lol Best of luck to you......and congratulations on going back to school and almost being done!!!!! I will be done in May.......who would have ever thought I would ever have gone this far........YOU GO GIRL!!!

Congrats on your success so far and knowing how to get back on track! That's awesome! This time of year is really hard to get back into the exercise and I know, for me anyways, I can ALWAYS find an excuse to not exercise! Play Twister with those kiddos or some other kind of indoor game! Involve them and they'll love it! The walking videos are cool and I know there are some folks over there in Lisbon who are post-ops....maybe they'll chime in if they read your post!
Congrats on school!
Keep in touch!
