Update on Stomach Problems...

Well I waited for the call back from Dr. Clough's office and they told me that they thought it was my diet.  I said to her, did you tell him I have even tried eating soup all day for two days and she said Yes.  I said well there is no way possible it can be my diet.  I said now look, I am not trying to be rude or anything but I want answers.  She said well they think you should talk to a dietitian about it.  I said ok, but listen not to be rude, but I know its not that.  I will call them though.  But I said, I will tell you just how I feel, I think there is something wrong, and I am not waiting to try this and that again, I want tests done that might be able to tell something.  If I tried this and that like you say, then 2 months down the road or so the Dr. says well if we had done this sooner, or blah blah blah.  (Please dont get me wrong, I love my Dr. Clough).  Anyway I basically told her that I didn't want to wait just to be told that they had wished we hadn't that something could have been caught ya know.  So anyway they wanted me to take the rest of flagyl which is for stomach infection, which did nothing before and call the dietitian.  So I called Amanda in Bangor the dietitian I usually see and told her just what I ate, and then that I tried just soup.  She agreed with me that it doesn't sound like its my diet at all.  I wanted to say Thank  God, someone is believing me.  I also had told the nurse at Dr. Clough's that I heard that when you get sick after surgery and it could possibly be surgery related that its hard to always get the help you need.  I wasn't trying to be mean, I really wasn't, I was trying to get somewhere and I was telling things I had heard from the main board and all.  Anyway Amanda (dietitian) said she would put a call into Dr. Clough's.  I dont know if they will do anymore or wait and see how I do on the rest of this medication that wasn't working in the first place.  So I will wait til Monday and then I am calling again, cause it would be a full 4 days on medication and its not working.  This morning I didn't eat cause I am so sick of being sick and having pain in my stomach so I waited til 11 a.m. when I was hungry.  A few minutes later after eating, and I am sick again.  No I don't think its lactose like some of you have mentioned cause I dont do much with milk or cottage cheese or milk products at all.  When I made the cream soup it was with water, etc.  Anyway thanks for listening and supporting me...Talk to you all later and take care...Angela

there is a stomach bug going around. My family has had it and I got it. My stomach was BURNING and I had pain and I was sure that something was worng. I used Gas X for 2 days and I'm OK. BUT you need to insist on seeing Dr. Clough....

I'm SOOO glad that you are persisting with trying to get help!  It must be miserable not being able to eat!  I'm so sorry you are having to go through this!  I sure hope they listen to you and the dietician!  Something's gotta give!   I sure hope they get to the bottom of this soon!

Angela!  I am so sorry you are going through this. That is SO unacceptable of your Surgeon's office!  Is there another surgeon near you that you can get to do anything?  I know my Doc says ANY stomach pain AT ALL Go right to Maine Med, do NOT put it off. I wish that you were closer to Maine MED  I would take you myself!!  Can you call an ON Call number to reach the surgeon and speak to him directly?  Call!! 

for sure , i know my dr any pain at all , she would have me go back , i call her in second and im back in she does not play around , i will say this i was sick for 2 months with strictures , and my stomach was in pain from wretching all the time ,but it all depends how u were getting sick and what your getting sick on , im with them call them get on them , its not a you take the money and run , weight loss surgery is life long ...
