I am not sure what the two days prior to surgery are for you but I was on a liquid diet for 48 hours and a bowel prep the day before I lost 5 pounds. Hang in there you will be on the losers bench before you know it. Please try to rest though Stress wont do anything at all to help you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay busy with something to keep your mind off things.

The EMMC program has 2 weeks of liquid protein diet, and thankfully no bowel prep

If you are following the liquid proteins, and even a lean cuisine dinner at night you can't do anything but loose weight. You won't be drinking anything after midnight the night before surgery so you should be at an all time low weight.

Don't panic, things will be fine. The PACU staff are wonderful, gentle and caring. It will go so fast you won't believe it! The nurses on Merritt 3 are wonderful. Any of them assigned to you have been specially trained in bariatric surgery and care.

It's normal to be nervous. This is major surgery, but you are in good hands. You have a Bariatric Centers of Excellence team there for you.

This can be an emotional roller coaster ride. I remember having to count to 10 before I spoke,  I was so irritable and crabby sometimes who know what might have come out of my mouth. Hang in there.... things get better.

Thats me right now. I'm so cranky. My mom looked at me one day and said "what are you in a bad mood or something?" I said "No, I'm ****** hungry!!!!!" lol I thought that it was just me that had a short fuse. I also told her " i'm exhausted" I have snapped at people and not meant to. When it comes to work I have to take a deep breath and put a smile on

Best of luck Sarah. I haven't been through it so I can't help from experience but I think that you should cut yourself a little slack.  You are getting ready to have major surgery at and already stressful time of year and you can't eat!!!  I would be crabby too!!!  Will all be thinking about you and keeping good thoughts for you.
