Well today marks the week that i have surgery. I'm starting to get nervous. I'm finding that I'm more tired then i used to be and crabby. The littlest things will set me off. I try not to let things get to me, but they do. I leave thursday for Northport to stay with my aunt. Then friday my surgery is at 7:15 in the morning. I'm not exactlly sure what time I'm supposed to be there they are going to call me Thursday to let me know. I so hope that my weight hasn't changed for the worst since i was last there. I really want to get see my pcp to get weighted and see where i am. just to be on the safe side. I'm starting to worry more now and getting scared that they will say nope we can't do it now. if that happens i dont know what i will do.  I'm trying so hard.

Hi  sarah

They will weigh you at the hospital  when  you get there  and  they will not cancel  your surgery.

you will probably have to be at the hospital  at 5 am.  If any one was going to cancel the surgery it would of been Dr. Huang  at your meeting with him.  I hope you have done well with the   liquid diet.  It is real important  as  it shrinks your liver and moves the fat in your belly away from the liver.

Makes the surgery so much easier.   Best of luck to you  you are in  our thoughts and there is lots of room  on the  losers bench for you!!!

Have a great day

I'm just afraid that since my meeting with him and the day of surgery i could have gained a lb. and that is what i'm worried about. i was told that if i gained a lb. they would cancel

wow, that is a little drastic don't you think?  ONe lb.  geeee, sounds like they are a little intimidating or trying to scare you.  I would relax and not worry.  just do your best and you will be fine.  one more week and you'll be on your way.  Keep up the good work.  Drink your water...

Wow - That's pretty harsh! I can't imagine they'd cancel a surgery over a pound, especially since most people can range 2 pounds within any given day!

Good luck! I hope that it all turns out for you and you'll enjoy your seat on the loser's bench!

Sounds like 1 pound of gain is a little drastic to me too......I wouldn't worry too much!  Just one day at a time!  Most importantly is that you've shrunk your liver a bit, as Patti said!

I'll be thinking about you!  Send good vibes your way!  Good luck and keep us posted!

Hey Sarah,

I had Dr Haung for my surgeon, he was so awesome I can't begin to tell you, all the panic I had was for nothing as he did the most awesome job, he's not the most touchy feely type of Dr, but I think he was just amazing, I doubt they will cancel your surgery over a pound, but if you are following the liquid diet they gave you to do, or at least follow it this week to the letter, you should gain about 2 pounds a day, it will shrink your liver and make for an easier surgery experience, don't worry you'll do fine, just really try to stick to your liquid diet this week, your in my thoughts and prayers!

Aw, you've got yourself a good case of the pre-surgery jitters - it's normal, trust me. I went through this and most of us do in some form or another. We're here for ya!

Have you had a hard time with the pre-op diet?  If you haven't cheated, you should not have gained.  My surgeon would cancel surgery if you gain, even if it is a pound.  In fact, on my surgery day, his two previous cases were cancelled for this reason. They need this to be safe for you! You will get there.  I am sure you are fine and are worrying over nothing.

Hi Sarah...my surgery was scheduled for 7:15 also and I had to be there by 5:50...

Once you get there and get checked-in everything just moves along so quickly you won't have time to be nervous anymore...
You're gonna be fine ~
try to relax and just stick to the diet this week...
the nervous part is something we've all been through...but as I said...
you're gonna be fine !!

Take care and all the best to you !!
