A Prayer is Needed...

This is from my really good friend and co-worker, Cindy...(she also had Lap RNY on Aug. 25th)

Many of you know that Troy is my nephew but is as close as a baby brother could be...We just got back from Portland visiting with Mariah and she's an awfully pretty little thing...Born on Dec. 2nd...She decided to come into this world 3 months earlier than she was suppose to...She is 1 lb. 12 oz. and 14 inches long, dark hair (but I think it will turn blond)...she's breathing 65 times a min. by herself and the machine is doing 8 of them...Dr's tried to take her of the ventilator today but she was not ready to do it on her own yet, she pee'd her diaper twice today (yahhh!!) and she moves her arms and legs continually...
Troy and Kelly are doing their best and would never ask a thing from anyone but Aunt Cindy would...Troy and Kelly live in Waldo, and have many, many trips ahead of themselves to Portland...If you could say a prayer for them and their new daughter, Mariah, it would mean so much to us...
13 years of marriage and they never thought that they'd be calling themselves "Mom & Dad", this baby is so wanted and will never have to wonder what being loved is all about...

Prayers are being sent your way.... My son was born at 3pounds and only 2 weeks early..... Because he was sent to a different hospital than I was at I couldn't see him for 3 days, I was given day passes so I could leave my hospital go spend the day then return at night....... He is 18 now but I still remember all.... Precious little mericales happen all the time, getting off the ventilator, off the IV's, drinking 1more oz, GAINING weight,,, then being able to go HOME is the BEST feeling. Please keep us posted  ~~~Linda

My dear friend gave birth on New Years Eve to Kim, who was due in March. He was 1 lb 12 oz. He is a wonderful grown man who has been programming computers since elementary school. Miracles happen all the time.

but I'm afraid it was just not meant to be...

This is probably the hardest note that I have ever had to type...I appreciate all of you for jumping on board to help my family but the powers of being had other plans for them...
As I type, Troy and Kelly are dealing with the hardest thing that they'll ever have to do...they're letting their little girl go...
scans came back today with her little brain bleeding...this is where things are just not fair...
again, I thank each and everyone of you for your help and please say a little prayer for them, for I'm afraid they will have a long healing time ahead...

My heart goes out to them I am so sorry for their sorrow.

Please let the family know that they are in my prayers.  Also make sure they know about the Ronald McDonald House.  It is a wonderful place and the people who run it are amazing.  I stayed there when my newborn was in Maine Med when he was a week old.  The hospital social worker can hook them up.  Tracy
