I have my consult this thursday
Hi...
I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it takes between the consult and an actual surgery date? I have my consult with Dr. Trieu this thursday. Also has anyone used this practice in Augusta, and if so, what was the experience like? I chose him because he has a good reputation, otherwise I would not be traveling multiple times back and forth from Fort Kent, to Augusta! I'm praying that the weather holds for my journey on thursday.
Thanks all.

David, you were not bad, maybe normal. If bad get us where we all have been or are, then Your Def, not the Only bad. I know I feel bad, I feel bad daily, that is why I needed to step away from OH a little, cause so many people have been so successful and are doing so good. Plus, I know a few OH members who have kinda had their opinions of me, "Being BAD" So, SCREW THEM... sorry, I"m doing what I can or want to do. We all have our own battles, and being understanding of others battles is what we call "Support". Your doing awesome. Maybe you can share what you feel was bad, so we can all relate and make you feel like your not Bad or the only one. Hugs, Cheryl
Is it your initial consult? It took me 14 months when I started BUT its only because there was only one dietician at that time, now there are 3. Its also because I quit smoking after my 3rd dietician appointment and I had gained weight and she wanted one more appointment and so did my insurance. Then when I had my last appointment the dietician was sick and i couldnt get back in with her for 3 months after that.
Everyone thats going through it now is taking about 6 months or so from what they were saying the other night at support group. Honestly I know you probably want it done, overwith and the weight gone but Im glad it took me as long as it did really. It helps prepare you better. No matter how prepared you think you are, you still have a shock after when you realize you literally CANT eat even if you wanted to. This is with the bypass anyway.
I had Dr Trieu and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE him. He is great, everyone at the office is great and I reccommend them to everyone I know that is interested in the surgery. I also had him take out my gallbladder in September.
I think you made a wise choice
its definately worth the drive.

Judi, wishing you a great Consult today, hope all is able to move quickly for you. We all know how it was during this waiting period, it felt like forever. Believe me when I say, take it in and learn all you can, read all the posts, even if some of them see repetative, it is so important to learn about what surgery you will have and all its trials and errors, and understand what your body will go thru. There is so much to learn and understand. Best of luck today, let us know how it went. I too have a fill today for my Band.
Hugs, Cheryl
