Hi,

I had a DS with Dr. Aslam in September 2000.  I was able to lose 200 pounds but never experienced any of the "potty issues" that other people talk about.  Over the past few years, I gained 80 pounds, which is almost unheard of with a DS.  I blamed myself for being the only person that had actually undone a DS.  I felt like a failure.

I had  revision surgery on 10/28 with Dr. Schlesinger in Phoenix, AZ.  Dr. Aslam's operative report stated that I had a 100 cm common channel.  What Dr. Schlesinger found was a 275 cm common channel.  Dr. S assured me that it did not grow in the past 8 years.  During the revision Dr. S removed an additional 200 cm and gave me a "true DS".

You can draw your own conclusions based on the information I have given above.  My intention is not to slander Dr. Aslam but to share my personal experience.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.  I wish you all the best.
