Problem Maybe?

Ok, so I may have a problem.  I will keep in eye on it the next day or so then call the office if it doesn't  look better.....

The problem is the drain tube site.  It was guazed and taped over and I have been chaning it and doesn't look infected. The site is closing up cleanly, but there is  A LOT of brusing around the area where the tape has been peeled off my skin and where I'm on the Lovenox I'm not sure if I should be concerned about it or worry that it may not heal.  I have been doing so well healing wise I don't want a nasty drain infection to foul anything up that's for sure!

Oh and tonight I took the tape off and replaced the guaze and just put 2 latex free band aids on.  I hope that helps with the situation.

Any thoughts?

If in doubt, call the doc!  I wouldn't take any chances.........it may be nothing to worry about, but still.  The lovenox will cause more bruising.  I'd call, just to be safe!  The office has someone on call and they usually get back to you pretty quick.  Keep us posted, ok?

I bruised after the Lovenox as well but toward the end of it. As far as the drain area is concerned They will tell you to get the bandaid off cause it wont let the wound heal properly from lack of air flow. The bruising could be from the tape although I just got raw all red and chaffed from the tape Bruising is probably just from the surgery itself, But do call the DR to make sure. No blood oozing from the drain site is there? Call today if it appears worse.
