I am really scared because I feel like I have gained some weight.  I do not have a scale so I am not sure how much.  Did this ever happen to anyone else.  I don't want to have to start over and I know that if I get approved I could starve for a few weeks before the surgery...Any suggestions

Good luck on Friday. This is about WL here and the troubles we have as morbidly obese people.

You will be on 2 weeks liquid proteins prior to surgery and will loose weight with that. Your "tool" will help afterwards.

Hi there! I met with Dr Toder on October 17th and I had gained 2 pounds since starting this process so I was very nervous as well. She didn't say a word about it. The appointment was very quick and painless. I expected her to have a bunch of questions for me but she didn't have any. She was very direct with her explanation of the procedure and what to expect after. Then the appointment was over. She got right to the point but was very nice too. She told me at that time she was booking into January already. My appointment is for March 2nd! She is probably booking into April now. Good luck!

G'morning and Good Luck tomorrow !!

I don't think you have to be worried...it seems like the dr's get a bit more concerned about a weight gain AFTER you've met with them...once they tell you what their expectations are...

Best of luck to you !!

Hi! I don't know your surgeon's recs, but I'd say don't stress too much about it until you see what happens.  Looks like everyone else who has seen your group of MD's feels like it will be ok.   Just breathe!!  Relax!  It'll definitely be easier to lose after your surgery!  Good luck!

No worries, just keep working on it...I hadn't lost as much as my surgeon's NUT wanted so I went on liquids for 3 weeks before surgery...it can be done.
Good luck tomorrow.

This is a personal question.  But do you happen to have EBPA for insurance?  I recognized your name and just wondered.  I am thinking about changing insurances and can't seem to get a straight answer as to whether or not they cover the WLS.

Good luck with your meeting with the Dr. hopefully all will be well and you will get your appointment soon!

Hi, not sure what EPBA insurance is but I have Harvard Pilgrim PPO insurance.  It covers WLS though it has a 2500 deductible which I just met.  Go figure ...now I need to meet it again because Dr. T is scheduling into next year.  I ended up maintaining my weight so I was happy with that.    Insurance through Dirigo Health also covers WLS and is pretty affordable because it is based on income.  I had that coverage when I started this journey but switched when I changed jobs.  I wish I had kept it it was actually better than what I currently have.

Good luck in your journey.

Don't stress over it. We did not get into a program like this because losing weight was easy for us. Give yourself a break and do your best nobody could ask any more of you than that.
