Can someone explain this???
I just don't understand my body and I hope someone can "splain this, Lucy" (sorry, bad impression of Ricky from I love Lucy!) How come when I don't exercise as much and I eat more carbs (I had 1/4 of one of those huge Hannaford chocolate chip cookies and some lite Pringles chips yesterday as snacks, as well as my "normal" food) and I lost 1.5 pounds overnight. Maybe it's fluid?? Trust me, I'm not complaining!!!! I'm just wondering if anyone has an explanation of how this works?!?!?! thanks!!!!!!! Have a great day!!!!!!! Ruth
Well, this is what I understand, (or have been told, not understand) I'm always being told to add calories to loose weight, yet I see you RNY'ers loose on 600 cal a day, how does this work? I can diet so well, and not loose a thing, then cheat and get on scale next day and it goes down, but the scale will go up 2 days later. I have no clue. I"ve been so good, exercise, eating, water, but still havn't lost a thing in over 2 months. so as for your cookies and pringles, eat and enjoy. maybe your body needed a little shake up. you'd think I would understand my body after 40 years of dieting.... NOPE! you didnt' dump with the cookies??
good job!
I really dont understand it either and it happends to me too. when i didnt worry bout cals and just exersized i lost like 6lbs and now i im stickin to the diet and exersizing, and i gained 2 back. You know i read this thing on the internet and they had said that you should eat different amout of calories everyday. the reason is so that it shocks your metabolism into working harder and burning more. say that one day you eat 1000 cals and make you metabolism start working harder, then the next day you eat 600, your metabolism is still workin hard because it thinkgs that you are going to get 1000 so it starts working the fat instead.
Dunno i just thought it was interesting!

Isn't that the age old question....happens to me too....always has - even pre-op. I don't know the reasoning....but it always pays to keep things shaken up when it comes to your metabolism.
The bad part of me thinks about how I can use that for an excuse for not eating as well - since the last time I did it I had a 5 lb drop....but I really know better....but.....ya know how we human like to rationalize.....
