OT- Beads
DHS is sleeping, 2 hours so far, and I had time to upload some photos of the glass work I do.
Here's one, there are others in my photo section

I work on a torch. It's all glass. The flower in the marble is made with glass layered White, Pink and blue, heated and pulled into pencil lead thickness called "stringer" and applied to teh clear glass.
Yes, I do occasionally burn myself.
Here's a photo of one of my class instructors making a bead.

Thanks
My Dad has a glass studio, both for fusing and bead making. He invited us to try the torch and make beads. That was the fall of "06. My beads were terrible.
Mom and Dad's Xmas gift '06 was a week long bead class at Corning Glass. The class was in Feb '07. It was wonderful. I learned SO much.
My teachers so far have been:
Kaitlin Hyde and Terri Caspari Schmidt- Corning, Feb'07
Tink Martin- Rockland, ME May '07
Leah Fairbanks- Rockland, ME April '08
Trey Cornette-Rockland, ME May '08
Pipyr + Ed Slawson- Rockland, ME May'08
John Kobuki- Rockland, ME June '08
Nancy Tobey -Rockland, ME Aug '08
I also go to the studio in Rockland once or more a week to torch. Ed and Virginia Slawson, the owners have taught me lots of tricks. Virginia is the queen of metalic reactions in glass.
Watch out! Flameworking is not an inexpensive art! Just the torch, tools, eyeglasses, kiln and glass will set you back over $1,000.
