an update from the Gulf Coast...
I have to admit...being from Maine, it's hard to even begin to imagine what these people are going through IF you've never been through somthing like this yourself...
It was a rough one. Lost chimney and had water pouring into fireplace. Lost ridge cap and have water leaking in through the ceiling. Roof lost half its shingles. Skirting is all over the neighborhood. Tornado took tree right next to house and our yard looks like a swamp, but all in all, things are ok. It could have been so much worse. We have no water or electricity and don't know when that will be restored, so it's really hot and muggy here. We are running on a generator right now to keep the refrigerator and freezer going. No one is getting any sleep. We were told that our camp on the coast is no longer there. Most roads are closed and we like many other parishes are under a curfew. Get caught out after curfew and you go to jail. Well, can't stay online too long, so I will say Goodnight!!!!!
