30 mins on the stationary bike, 60 mins with the "balance ball" video...(arm, leg, and core workout)

I think I need another nap now!

Motivation is different for everyone, as you know.  For me, the motivation comes from the fact that if I DON'T exercise, I DON'T lose weight!      Simple as that!  I don't particularly love exercise but I do enjoy the benefits of it!        Find something that you enjoy, whether it's walking, biking, rollerblading, the gym, fitness tapes, whatever and then just go for it!   Change it up.....do different things, do things WITH someone else (that always helps me...since DH has been walking with me, it seems I push myself a little more and he loves to talk, so it's a distraction too!)

I LOVE my iPod!  I use it ALL the time with some upbeat or uplifting music to get me going!     Sometimes I listen to some loud, screaming Rock n Roll!      Sometimes it's some Church music!      All depends on my mood!  I use it while walking, at the gym, wherever!

For me, starting is the hardest part!  Once I get going, it seems easier and I can keep going!!  Sure, I get tired, sweaty,    gross, whatever!    But, it also curbs the appetite     and helps me increase my fluid intake cause I KNOW I NEED to stay hydrated (don't we all???)

Just remember your long term goal....YOU CAN DO IT      (you may not LIKE it ) but You CAN do IT!!!!!

Not sure if that helps at all....just my two cents!!!        Ruth

haha, thanks for taking all that time, but I still hate it. haha you should hear me talk to myself, "I freaking hate this Sh...t, man I could be playing in my garden or something fun, but noooo, i'm fat and i have to walk.  Man, I didnt' mind walking at the mall in the morning but I hate my road, it is flat, beautiful, next to the lake, beautiful babbling brooks, but soooo boring.  I"m like one more house, one more house, this morning I was counting steps between houses, all between 40 & 43 steps, not much is it?  at the mall I saw cars, people walking, all kinds of activity, walking my road is as bad as walking on a treadmill.  other then walking at the mall I miss my daily shopping trips, haha, DH dont' tho. hehe... oh well, I just need to do it and shut up.

That's funny cause I do the same thing....."come on, one more minute, oh, ok, you did that minute, now get to 10 minutes, now 12 minutes"  I keep talking to myself too!  I'm like you...if I hadn't gained all this weight to begin with, then I wouldn't have to be working so hard now! It sucks, but, I guess I've made up my mind that I'm gonna do what I have to do to make this work...as I know you have too!  WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!   ( I feel like that Tony guy on the commercials for that Gazelle thing...."You CAN DO IT!!!!!!")  haha   Keep your chin up!  Taking that first step today is the greatest thing you can do!!!!!!   And.....we'll all be here to cheer each other on when we don't feel like doing it anymore!!!!!!!!    honks!!!!!!!!  Ruth

WHOOO...good for you Cheryl.  I did my 5 minute wald 3 times today.  I didn't get my 1 mile in cause I had to help another trainer set up her room for training.  Maybe tomorrow I'll get to do the mile.  But I walked Malibu St 3X even added the next street over in the afternoon for a total of 25 minute walking today.  I felt so much better this afternoon.

good for you, every 5 mins. count....I have to say I don't notice a difference when I walk or don't, only that my body kills me more, when I sit down I can barely get up, when I have walked, "poor old lady"...
