How did your glass bead making class go? Got any pictures?

I've had the basic supplies to do these for 10 years - I had signed up a****erfalls Arts for a week long class this past July but they cancelled it at the last gun.

I hope to be able to take a class at the place in Rockland - maybe next spring.

Do you do any other type of bead work?

Oh, I wish I'd known that. There's a group of Maine Glameworkers who get together several times a year in Rockland for a "glass jam". We had a 3 day jam this past weekend. It's open to anyone new or experienced.

The class was wonderful. Nancy Tobey makes wonderful, incredibly colorful boro beads. I made many beads. Mine were the class favorites- aw shucks.

I work mostly in soft glasses (COE 104) and boro (COE 30) and sometimes in Bullseye (COE 90). At home I have a Nortel Minor torch, at the studio I have a Bethlehem Barracuda with dual manifold and foot pedal.

I also do seedbead weaving, try my hand at the offerings in Bead and Button and Beadwork Magadine.

That sounds like it's a lot of fun - I wouldn't call myself a beginner yet - more of a wanna be!   If I ever find a house to buy, I plan to get started - currently I'm renting and don't really have a good place to work.

When you say studio - do you make and sell as well?

I do seed bead weaving - although I get inspiration from B&B - I do mostly my own designs. Once upon a time, many moons ago I made and sold polymer clay jewelry. Now for beading I have made some jewelry, but have been mostly making tree ornaments - I'll get some pics to put online if you'd like to see......and I'd love to see some of your glass beads...hint...hint!!!!
