Refilling prescriptions ?

I'm just a little over 1 month until surgery. Some of my medications will run out before then. Should I get the full 90 days worth (what my insurance covers) or less?

Which ones did you stop after surgery?

I know this is a surgeon/ PCP question.  It's running through my mind as Sunday I fill up my pill boxes for the week. I fix up a Sun thru Sat AM and PM pill box.
I know my vitamins will have to switch to chewables, but how about the calcium, glucosamine, and prescription meds? HBP. Cholesterol, depression, etc.

Dr Loggins had told us that all meds needed to be either chewable crushable or liquid for the first 2 weeks after surgery and if not possible to ask your pcp if it would be ok to go without the meds for that 2 week period. Hope that helps

Hi Emily...when I met with Amanda for my one-on-one dietitian app't. she said ALL meds would be (temporarily) stopped until after surgery...but I'm thinking that's only gonna be for the first 2 weeks...{ ?? }
Probably not much help but you might wanna call Lynn or Amanda on Tues. morning...

Hope all's going well ~

My surgeon allowed me to take all my meds right through, they were all small enough.  The only one I really stopped after surgery was my HBP pills.  I am still on depression, cholesterol (must be in my genes) and Rheumatoid Arthritis meds... I never had to do any chewables.

I'd call the surgeon's office....they're all so different in what they want!  Good luck!  Ruth
