Rant- they're old and CRAZY!!!!

Mom made a comment that I haven't been to her house since sometime in June.

She decided on Thursday to hold a family BBQ at her house this weekend. E-mailed me and DS to plan which day and time would work for our families. I said any day after 6PM so that DH could attend.
I got an e-mail later on.... the BBQ is today at 3 !!!!   DH phoned me at work and is trying to figure out what the heck was she thinking?  All I can say to him is to repeat my mantra for them....."They're old and crazy".  Of course co-workers hear the conversation and rolling on the floor at this comment.   Whenever Mom or Dad do something weird, wacky, whatever I repeat the mantra. There's no sense arguing.

Mom will be 80 in December, Dad is 79. Isn't old age wonderful ?!?!? I love them dearly, but they're old and crazy.

Boy can I relate, I have to admit I am getting better with patience.  10 years ago, me and mom would be yelling at each other.  I don't care if its hearing the same story 5 times, or having her talk to someone else when we're talking to her, then saying we never told her, or screwing up stories and passing them along,  she is still my mom... Gotta love all the gossip she tells me about people I have never met before tho.  Oh, Boy !!!  Thank God she lives with my sister, she gets the brunt of it all.

...and just think we're all gonna be "old and crazy" one day as well...
so I guess we better be good to our kids now 
after all they're the ones who will be picking out our nursing home
