Hi Amber,

I never had to, so I don't know.  My surgeon had me on Protonix (sp?) for the first 30 days.  I would call your surgeon's office. I am thankful to say, that I didn't have any heartburn after my surgery. I used to suffer daily with it.

PS: we missed you at the gathering!! I hope you are feeling, ok?

Not sure about the tums, but my Dr had me get a refill on Prevecid for the first 30 days. I have been taking it for years anyway, so will just continue to do so. I'm hoping the reflux will stop soon after surgery. I would call the Dr office tomorrow and ask about tums or maybe a scrip for stronger meds for heartburn/reflux.

Um I would call your Dr. You want to rule out blood clots. My first reaction. Second is that your potassium is low that can cause cramping in the muscles. Please call your Dr you want to be on the safe side. I don't want to make you panic it is probably the potassium, but only your Dr can tell you for sure.
