My first appt is tomorrow!!! UPDATE
I am so excited. I probably wont sleep a wink. What should I expect? I know they said to expect to be there for 2 hours between Dr Loggins and the nutritionist.
Well my 1st appt went well. I met the medical asst, then the PA, then Dr Loggins, then the nurse. I am horrible with names so don't remember all of them. I watched a film, answered a ton of questions and a brief exam with the PA, then Dr Loggins for a few minutes, then the nurse to go over all the tests I need to have. I did not meet the nutritionist which I thought I would? I go to a group nutrition class on Sept 22nd. I need lots of bloodwork, sleep study, venous study, ekg, chest xrray, gall bladder us, a I have to go see the gastro and possibly have an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I have a h/o some irritable bowel stuff, nothing major but I will probabaly have to repeat my endo and colonoscopy for a few yrs ago. Dr Loggins said if it was a major ibs I could not have bypass but maybe banding. I dont think it is major as I live with some symptoms but do not take any meds nor have I had to f/u with the gastro. I really want the bypass and not the banding. Oh yeah also psych eval. I felt like they were very organized and I was in good hands no matter what. I am supposed to lose 23 lbs if I can. Time to buckle in a work.

I'm excited for you! I remember how excited I was for that first consult too! It's an amazing journey from here! You'll meet Dr Loggins, Mike, the PA (probably), at least one of the nutritionists, Crystal (the office manager who takes care of all the insurance stuff) and you'll probably watch a video too. They'll tell you what other testing you'll need to have done based on the questionaire you filled out. The two hours goes by REALLY fast! WOW! Let us know how it goes at your consult! (Say "Hi" for me too...haha!) Ruth
You are in good hands with Dr Loggins. Wishing you the very best. You will make out just fine. They will have you attend the New patient orrientation presentation as well I believe that is the first Wednesday of the month and also set you up with a group Nut meeting. They will take care of making some of the appointments for you others you will need to make for yourself. When you get closer to the end they will let you know you need possibly need 5 years of doccumented weight records. Good Luck to you.
