So, tomorrow, Thursday, I have a follow up with pulmonary department about the cpap!  YIKES!  I SWEAR I've been trying to wear it but I CAN'T sleep with the silly thing AND it hurts my nose!  I KNOW the doc is gonna be upset with me as I'm being NON-COMPLIANT!  YIKES!  (I hate it when my patients do that to me!!)  So, if y'all can help me out by sending up a little prayer that maybe, just maybe the last pulse oximetry test I took last week looks better and maybe, just maybe, they'll let me get rid of that cpap?!?!?!  PLEASE?  I need all the help I can get!  Thanks to all of you!  Y'all are the BEST!!!!!!!  hugs!  Ruth

Prayers for you.

What type of mask are you using?
DH had to try 3 different types of  mask and a nasal pillow before he got one that he liked and one that didn't blow a hurricane of air on me when he rolled my way. I found the mask that covers my nose comfortable, the nasal pillows left me feeling like I wa*****hed in the nose.  Contact your CPAP provider and inquire about other masks.

It took me about 2 weeks of wearing the mask part-time to have a complete night with it on. I would take it off in my sleep in the beginning. I have been wearing it faithfully for 7 months now. Even took it camping with me.

I've been using the nasal pillows since day one.  I did OK with it pre-op...it took a while, but usually made it through the night. Now...the pressure just seems too high and feels like it's gonna blow my sinuses outta my head!  AND, I wake up with the feeling of being punched in the nose.  I hope I won't even have to try anymore after today!  We'll see!

Prayers arising for you Ruth. I haven't used mine at all since I got it except fro the very beginning and then only for a couple hours. Mine is a bipap with high pressure and that isn't what bothers me, it is the chin strap I have to wera to keep my big mouth shut. I like the nasal pillows and the full face mask irritates my skin terribly so I can't wear that, so I am stuck with a chin strap that males me look (and feel) like an old-tyme dental patient with a bandana tied around his head and a big lunp on the side of his cheek...talk about claustrophobic! I should keep trying I know. I had this thought last night that after all this...seminary, moving, surgery, etc...I will die in my sleep some night of sleep apnes! Not a pleasnt thought.
