You have so much going on! My goodness.

Sleep apnea could be the reason for your being tired. It does take a bit to get used to the mask. The nurse who counseled me when I first got mine was very helpful. She uses one herself and explained what it would feel like having the mask on. She also told me about some relaxation te*****ues which worked for her, and me. It is a claustrophobic feeling at first to use the mask.  The first several nights I had the mask I took it off sometime in my sleep. It was about 2 weeks before I realized that I had worn it throughout the night.  It must be working because I am no longer tired or exhausted. I used to believe I never got enough sleep, that 7 hours weren't enough. I used to fall asleep during my coffee breaks, lunch hours and when riding to and from work ( I car-pool and slept when a passenger).

Once in a while, I have taken a night off and realize how much the c-pap helps. That tired feeling comes back- it's not worth it. I use the mask nightly.

There are several types of masks and nasal pillows. I prefer the mask which goes over my nose. The pillows are not comfortable for me- I feel like someone ha*****hed me in the nose. The c-pap machines have a memory card and "THEY" can tell how much you use the machine. The cards need to be mailed in every so often to be read and returned with adjustments for pressure, etc. The MD gets a report of the card reading.

Now for the funny part.... can you imagine someone coming into my bedroom and seeing me and DH with our c-pap masks on?? They'd think they were in some sort of sci-fi movie

The sleep studies are NOT fun, but, as I was told, if we have sleep apnea, all this testing could save our lives! (I had to have 2 sleep studies too!  YUCK!)  Sounds like ALOT is going on in your life!  Take it one day at a time!  Keep us posted!  Ruth
