Make  sure  you  are  taking your  B  12  abd  calcium   they have a lot to do with  being cold.  but other  than that  you  have  lost   a lot of  insulation so  add some sweaters and such to your clothing.   Yes  i  am  colder  now

have  a  great  day

Weird you'd mention that...when I saw my PCP on 7/28 she asked how close I was getting to having surgery...told her I hadn't gotten a date yet and the 31st was my final pre-approval app't...she said "nows a good time to add a bit more Vitamin D I think..."
So anyway...along with my Woman's One A Day and Calcium (with vit. D) I'm also taking an addt'l. 400 IU D of Vitamin D...saw the dietitain on the 31st and she said "yup, that's probably a good idea..."
So it must mean something ~ I just have no idea "what"...??

Enjoy (another) rainy day in Maine ~

There are a few key nutrients that us RNY ers can become deficient in They are usually the ones that require stomach acid to help your body absorb them. Calcium, and Iron require that acid. Good to take Iron with Vit C it helps with absorption. Vit D and B 12 are also hard to process after RNY so most Surgeons watch bloodwork very closely the first year after surgery. Sounds like your PCP is right on top of things. Rain Cloud  This is so how I feel right now. Rain Rain go away come again another day .

Yes I am cold most of the time too... I never thought I would but there are days that I am looking for a sweater. I have to bring a sweater to restaurants now because I get cold. I was told that once our weight levels off and we don't loose or we are at our goal after a few months our body will adjust to our new weight. I find I am more cold right around that time of month for me...... keep a sweater with you ,,, maybe someday we may see the sun to warm things up.... LOL..... Have a great day.... Linda

Keela I was freezing all the time for about 4 to 5 months post op. What I was told was when your bady is losing so rapidly and Ketosis is present you will feel cold lots. It makes sense if you think about it you are rapidly losing your insulation. Once you get closer to your goal weight your body should even out and you shouldn't feel cold as much. Although you still may chill quicker than others for awhile.I would just start jumping in place when I got cold like that it helped I suppose anything that ups your heart rate and circulation would help you warm up quicker.
Hugs

BTW my B12 levels have been high from day one so don't add vits without knowing if they're needed. Wait for your bloodwork and go from there.
