I didn't have enough time to panic real good from the time I had ins approval and my surgery date. You are perfectly normal.  I had lap gallbladder surgery about 8 months before my RNY and didn't think twice about that cause I was in pain. Risks are pretty much the same as far as the surgery itself is concerned. To me my RNY was a blessing from God and a life saving surgery. My health was on a downhill slope picking up speed everyday. I had the surgery for me but I am thinking more for me kids. I wanted to be alive to see my daughter graduate and at the rate I was going I don't think I would have made it.
You will do just fine. Do everything the Docs tell you to do and it will be even better. I am down more than 100 pounds since last September. Pretty amazing My health is so much better because of my RNY and my outlook has changed tons I am so much more positive now and I would not change me decision to have this surgery. Put your self in Gods hands if you let Him take control of the situation you will be just fine. It will ease your mind as well. You are in my Prayers

HI Devin,
I don't have anything in addition to what everyone else has said.  I just wanted you to know that I'm here to support you as well.  We all had similar feeling and we all get down at times ****rtainly have had more than my share recently).  I don't think anyone can be 100% prepared for any surgery, never mind on so life altering.  I can't relate to the pre-op liquid diet as I wasn't required to do that and frankly I don't think I would have been able to so I tip my hat to all of you that have done it.
Take care of you and know we are all here to help anyway we can!

Double Ditto to what Kate said!! I prayed and asked God to open or shut doors...and I promised to keep walking through the steps....

Your doing the right thing...its a huge life changing event...but its worth it!!

Hi girls, I am doing a bit better today (thanks to all of you).  I'm keeping busy......(decided to remodel my bathroom).  I am going to follow doctor's orders to a T.....and have faith that everything will be fine.  Ohhh....and....I've lost 8 pounds since Sunday.....and the cravings for food are not half as bad as they were the first few days.  Thanks again to you all......

DEvin, 8 lbs, there you go, you are off and running, you might gain after surgery due to fluids, but I have to say you will not see this weight again.  and what a great idea, remodeling your bathroom, remember to suggest this to the next person who needs to keep busy and keep their mind off from the liquid diet.  I'm excited, I LOVE remodeling, do you need any ideas, i'm the queen of "frugal decorating ideas"... hehe  have a wonderful, WET day...
