psyc appt questions
I have my psyc appointmet scheduled for October and noticed that it is a 2 1/2 hour appointment. What do they do for that period of time. It is with a man...wi**** were a woman....anyway I was told that there is a written test but that is all I know. I would appreciate Any information that you can supply. I certainly have plenty of time...lol. Has anyone used the Dr. that is located right in the hospital in Augusta?? It is not the Dr. in Waterville (I know they use both). Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. Kimberly

Hi Kimberly...
I just had my psych eval done this past Thursday...at Acadia in Bangor...
A 560+ questionnaire...all T or F...gotta color in the lil' circle..
Then another (I think) 67 questions...
When you're finished the test(s) are fed into a computer and then the Psychologist goes over it with you
He asks you "why" you want to have WLS...
What you know about it...(IE)...risks involved...things that can happen after.......dumping, the grease, sugar, etc...
If you have a goal weight in mind...??
The test is basically to see if you are mentally prepared and realize this is for a LifeTime not just a temporary fix...and also to make sure you have no suicidal tendencies...just be honest in answering the questions and you'll be fine...my app't was scheduled for 3 hours and I was out in 2...
Good Luck...you'll be fine

I had all True & False but sounds like Angela had multiple "guess"
But either way...you're gonna do just fine !!

Yes it is for about 2 hours or 2 1/2 can't remember now...I just got done having my rny last week, so the pysch eval was a little bit ago. Yes it is a test, but its multiple choice questions and I believe there are like 500 so it does take time, and plus you meet with the dr. and he talks to you about the surgery and such. Trust me it goes by fast even with all those questions cause you get wrapped up in it. No I didn't use the dr in the Augusta hospital I used the Dr. in Waterville because I went through EMMC in Bangor. Hope this helps.
