I just looked at the label on my "healthy choice" tomato soup and 0ne serving has 10 grams of sugars.  I'm drinking a whole can at once which is like 25 grams of sugars....... isn't our 2 week liquid diet supposed to be sugar free?   I thought we were allowed tomato soup after surgery also.  Wonder if it would cause dumping.....

As far as I know Tomato soup is off limits for a couple months after surgery cause of the acidity in it. Not sure about your surgeon though. I know Dr Loggins says no tomato. Good Luck figuring it out.

you could always make your own, like homemade spag. sauce, add splenda instead.  but like kathy said, our dr. says, no tomatoes... check it out.. good luck,  oh, and read, read, read lables, my first grocery after wls took me 2 hours.  but went alot easier after you find out what products to buy.

I was told tomato soup was fine before surgery and after and I am diabetic.  In fact with Dr. Clough who starts phase 3 in the hospital before you leave they give you tomato soup, but I know Dr. Huang is different.  So I guess if you aren't real sure you could call and ask the dietitian and they would be able to help you further.  Hope this helps.

I used tomato soup after surgery which was allowed with Toder - but after surgery you'll consume such a small quantity you most likely won't have an issue.

I agree with the above posts...you'll be eating so little that the sugar may not matter.  Just gotta keep reading the labels!  Good luck! Ruth
