Support Group Finally Meeting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow Mainers!

My church just voted to let me use the facilities for OH support group meetings!!  My first meeting will be August 16 at 9 AM.  The meetings will be at East Brunswick Baptist Church...83 Farley Rd. Brunswick, ME.  Please help me get the word out if you know of people in the mid-coast area who would be interested!

My group is open to anyone dealing with obesity.  Faith will be a topic, as it is what saw me through.

Ya'll come now, ya hear?!  (19 years in FL rubbed off on me, what can I say?!)

Is this support meeting supported by professionals, facts, and scientific data or is it more or less a get together of pre and post-ops?

Hello!

I do hope to get professionals in from time to time to present.  OH arms me as a leader with facs and info.  I cannot and would not give medical advice.  I really want for my meetings to be whatever the group needs that week.  Some weeks, I see a lot of facts coming out...what vitamins do we need and why.  Some weeks,  see the casual get together where we're all just helping each other through the challenges we face with obesity...be it pre or post op.  I believe obesity is kind of like alcoholism in that I will never really be cured, I can just be recovering.  I know that if I don't make concerted efforts daily, I can (and will) put all of the weight back on. 

I know that you are way up there in Caribou, but if you're ever in our neck of the woods, we'd love to have you stop by!
