Okay first of all I want to apologize now for posting so much about this darn 2 week liquid diet, but geesh enough is enough already...I am hungry and want something real...The thing I want the most is a burger, no fries, no pizza, just an ordinary burger...I am tired of going out shopping and seeing all this food and can't eat it lol...In fact, I have even still been preparing all the meals here at home...I let him do it at first, the first couple of nights and then couldn't stand it because I get the mother was coming out in me and made me want to do it...The things I have made was whole made chicken parmesan, meatballs and pasta, whole made chicken nuggets and fries, pastas, of course veggies and such...Geesh I would just kill to even has some veggies, cause most diets as you know you can have all the veggies you want, NOT THIS ONE...I know, I know, its only 4 more days then the 5th day is surgery, but I want something real, no more soups and liquids! Help!!!!!!!

This is the toughest part!!  It will get better!  I really give you credit for sticking with this..no matter how hard it it!  You CAN do it!  You know that your surgery will go so much smoother because of it!  Just keep the long range plan in site!  I know you can do it!  I'd go back to having the DH do meals!  At least there won't be as much temptation!  (I'd let him get groceries too...but that's just me!!  haha)  btw...all that food sounds YUMMY!  Sorry..just had to add that!   You are only a few days away now!!!!  Keep venting when you need to!  You know I did it all the time....AND  still DO!  hugs and honks going out to you!!!!!  Ruth

You can do this Angela !!
Just keep telling yourself...the liquid diet is just gonna make the surgery much easier for the Dr. to perform and make the days after the surgery that much easier for you...
easy for me to say, I know...I don't even have a surgery date yet    but my turn will (hopefully) be here soon enough...and then you can tell me the same thing
Good Luck and just know we're all here to cheer you on !!

...I gotta agree with Ruth though...I'd definitely let hubby do the cooking and eliminate the temptation...

Take Care !!

Wow Angela, you have make it so far and done really well... I am new here although I was once one of those lurkers. Just think of all the time you have had to wait just to have this surgery, 4 days should go by quickly. Of course I am not in you shoes, although I hope to be sometime soon, and my doctor requires two weeks of liquid diet I can't even imagine Hang in there Angela it will be done before you know it.

Hi Angela,

First let me say how GREAT you are doing! Really great! So great that I hesitate even telling you this, but I see you are in the EMMC patient group (as am I) and I wanted to tell you what Lynn Bolduc told me about the two week pre-op diet just TODAY in an email. Pre-op ONLY. Not post op. She said I could have one lean cuisine a day if I couldn't keep to the full liquid diet. I asked her if I could have a homemade gazpacho I make (out of V-8, tomatoes, onions, garlic, red bell pepper, & cukes). I said I would puree it and she said I could have it without pureeng it as long as I got my 60 grams of protein in. But I was not to have it after surgery until at least the 6 week mark and someone tells me I can have it. I start my pre-op diet next Monday and I intend on eating that gapacho. Maybe not the lean cuisine, because I am afraid that would lead me to want other food, but the gazpacho for sure. Yum yum! Just thought I would let you know. Email her and tell her you are going nuts and just want to eat something, anything and I bet she will tell you the same thing. Good luck. Surgery day will be here so soon, for us both!

Hi Angela,

i was where you are 6 or so weeks ago...it was soooo hard..because on top of it all your starving, which makes it that much harder.

After surgery you will still have liquid and puree diet..but you wont be hungry...and wont be interested in food at all. Youll have to make yourself drink and eat...so its MUCH easier.

Hang in there!! I know its hard....and you will reap the benefits soon!!

Take care

Angela, Qudo's to you girl, I dont know how you've done it, you are awesome and I can tell you really want this.  You will be very successful.  If you can do this you can do anything post op.  Just follow dr. rules and you will be great, and that picture on your ativar will soon be changing if not already.  Best of luck and great job, Hugs and Honks, Cheryl

Hang in there. I know its tough I had to do the 2 week liquids too, but I also had to do 2 weeks of liquids AFTER. Course it didnt really bother me as much after but my head just wanted to taste something besides sugar free popsicles and jello heh.
I also know this is kind of late so you only have what? 3 more days to go! Youre on the home stretch!
