I think I'd call the billing office, just to double check. It sounds kinda odd to me...but what do I know?  haha

I guess I misread your first post?
"an Office visit is $25 a visit, with 3 being the max."
I read that as your insurance policy has a copay of $25 for the first three nutrition visits.
Possibly I'm reading it wrong?

A lot of policies out there have a dollar or visit limit on certain items.
The best thing is for you to look at your policy and to double check by calling the insurance company.
Your nutritionist just bills the insurance company for their rate.  It's your policy that determines the amount the insurance pays and the amount you pay.

Cheryl check your insurance policy and an insuance company rep.

let me try to make it clearer, I'm not a very smart person when It comes to insurances. BUT!  before surgery, I was told by insurance that they didnt' cover my NUT appts.  so I called the billing dept. at CMMC, which is where Dr. 's office told me to call and they stated the $25. a visit, for Nut, and said 3 max visits, usually pre op. but when my bills are coming in my nut bill is $100.00.  and the Nut appts. are adding up, if you know what I mean.  I dont mind going and paying, just being mis quoted, by billing was my gripe.  oh, and I have NO co pay.

Cheryl , I don't know what my bills have come out to be, they keep having problems with the codes when I go for a fill. But what I am writing about is I do not see the nut every time I go for a fill. It is because you are still in the first 6 months of your band and they probably want to make sure you can handle the life change. After my 6month check up I didn't see my nut till the 1 year check up and now I don't even remember when my next visit is. I just have to call when I want a fill.  ~~~Linda

Just another thought......

I had rny so I don't know how it is with the band.  But if your nutritional needs change with each fill it only makes sense that every time you have a fill you would see a nutritionist.

With rny at EMMC as our nutrition progress in stages we see the nutritionist.  I like that...it's all good.
