This is my 4th day on liquid diet and its gotten A LOT easier...I dont really even get hungry anymore...And the good news is even with the heat, I have lost 4-5 lbs. just since yesterday...I am so proud...As each day passes I say ahhhh another day done and feel very proud, knowing that its one day closer to "the day."  I am really getting so excited thinking about the new life...The only parts I worry about for afterwards is buying new clothes on my fixed income, and all the extra skin, but I will take it one day, and one thing at a time...Thanks for all your support through this and sorry I dont post more often, but I have been packing the time with the kids outside before my surgery...Honks!!

Woo hoo misty   You are doing wonderful!!!   Wont be long now  and  lots shop at good will  when going  thru lots of sizes.

But  that is not  even  a thing to worry about.   September we have a clothes swap  at the  support group  meeting and there were lots of good things  there last time.

Well have a great day!!!!!

Congratulations on your weight loss
The two week liquid diet helps you get ready for the diet after surgery, at least it did me! I was allowed raw veggies and 1 small meal a day. But, you can only eat so much raw veggies and of course certain ones.
It helps you to let go of the sweets, etc or at least it has me, for now
Before you know it your surgery date will be here!
Keep up the good work and keep us posted!
Take care and will be praying for you!

Misty,
You are right, it does get easier, i was 3 weeks on liquids cause I didn't lose the weight fast enough for NUT, I was on the fast track for surgery...so 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after!!! It got easier and easier and even today, I will drink shakes for 2 out of 3 meals just cause it is easier and they are so good.
You are doing fantastic, and will be ready on the 29th.
Don't worry about clothes there is the clothing exchange on OH, there are church sales, thrift shops and Goodwill to get you through the transitional times when you are in and out of sizes fairly fast.
I am an EBAY shopper that has helped, and good ol' Walmart, too!! Their clearance is legendary!! LOL
Good luck, kiddo!! Have fun in the sun!

Angela do your clothes have to be new?  If not don't despair.  I'll save my clothes instead of giving them to Goodwill.  Private message me and possibly I have something will work for you.  My work clothes are professional type...lots of dressy pants and blouses, suits, and sweaters.

My home clothes you won't want.  They tend to be stained work clothes (and I do have a lot of them....LOL)  Well actually I'll have some jeans shortly. Those are home clothes, right?  Who couldn't use more jeans???

I don't know if you're handy with a sewing machine or not but once I got my surgery date I began planning ahead.  I spend a little time at Wal*Mart looking at basic patterns.  I got a basic pant/t-shirt pattern (actually it's a pajama pattern but no one can tell....I think?)  Then I went to their $1.00/yard area and got myself some fabric.  I made myself some pants and shorts with elastic waists so that I can adjust as I loose.  Of course this won't work forever because they're bound to get baggy in the hip leg area.  As for the t-shirts they're also easy enough to take in or reconstruct.

I certainly can understand your concerns about the clothes.  It's hard to justify purchasing clothing when you don't know how you're going to pay the electric bill or heat your home.  I live it too.  I have faith in God that something will work out.  Some days it's a real struggle but God does take care of me.

Here's something funny and interesting.  Two winters in a row I have kept my home heated at 62 degrees.  60 when I'm not home...I'm too afraid of the house freezing up to go any lower.  As a result most of my friends ask  me to go to their home instead of them coming here.  So in the winter doing less entertaining and I have more money for bills.  Hahaha!  However, the trees on my property shade my home very well and keep my home cool in the summer.  Soooo my entertaining is done in the summer months as an exchange.  When I say cook out at my house people offer to bring things.  They know my situation.  They are my friends after all and friends look out for friends.

Hi Cheryl.
I don't want to hijack this thread but I do want to thank you.
I'm feeling great...still get very tired at the end of the day though.
Thanks for asking.
