first of all, some of you might remember a remark I said to Ruth a few months ago (I think).  We were talking about hair loss and weight loss. and I had neither.  SO kiddingly told Ruth "I might not be loosing weight, but my hair is georgeous.....Welll??? guess what,  I'm sorry I said that cause now I've got clumps of hair all over,  I was thinking it was someone else, but no one here has hair my length and color.  first of all, i've been on diets my whole life, i'm still not loosing, to speak of?? and am loosing my hair,??? what is different now?  oh, and one more thing.  I"ve had the runs for 3 days,??? not sure why, almost had to stop at burger king this morning to use bathroom, phew, what a long ride home.   ok, thanks for letting me ramble....AGAIN!!!

I lost some before surgery and then it stopped but I have noticed the last couple of days that there are many more strands coming out.  It is from the calorie reduction post op.  We just have to keep up that protein intake and it will not last forever.
Not sure about the other issue.  I have the opposite problem.

Hi Cheryl!  I'm truly sorry that you've started losing your hair!    The good news is that it won't last forever and it will grow back!  I think you may have more of a restriction than you think you have and the fewer calories are starting to catch up to you...sorry....welcome to my world!  Just make sure you are getting your protein in (try to hit the high mark of 80g/day, if you can), eat healthy....add zinc, biotin, nioxin shampoo....I'm doing it all and I'd like to think the hair loss is slowing a little bit.  I only have to clean my hair brush out every 2-3 days now instead of daily!!!!!  I THINK that's an improvement, right?   BTW....I may be losing my hair, but it's STILL gorgeous!  hahaha...lmao  ...just kidding.....maybe if I did something with it, it might be gorgeous...but I LOVE this wash and wear look!!!!!!!!!!    Good luck!  hugs!  Ruth

Ruth,
How much Zinc are you taking?  And I am too scared to take Biotin.  I have read too many posts about people experiencing increased hair growth all over.  I do not want a mustach!!!! LOL.

I'm taking Zinc -50mg  which is 333% of the daily value.  Corinne told me to take it for the hair loss prevention but she never told me how much to take.  I went to GNC and they told me the 50's should be ok and they also recommended the "Hair, skin, and nails formula" which has 15mg of zinc, 3000mcg (1000% rda) of biotin,(I'm kinda worried about the biotin and growing a mustache too, but so far, so good!) and some type of "collagen" building stuff, I forget which ingredient it is, but she said it makes the hair follicles stronger.  I'm not sure which helps the most, but, as I said, I'm trying it all to see if I can slow the loss down a bit and it seems to be working...slowly!!!!!!   Good luck!!!!!!!
