10 day post op appt
I saw Dr. Loggins and the gang today for my 10 day post op. Everything is going great, I have lost 12 pounds since my pre-op visit on 6/24, my labs were great and they took out my stitches!!
I think the best part of it all was the look on my hubby's face when they took my BP. After two weeks with no blood pressure meds my BP was 112/65!! That is lower than before WLS on meds.
I get to move on to pureed and mushy foods on Monday.....I am really looking forward to that!
Talk to everyone soon,
Kelly
Aweomse! Sounds like you're doing great. Amazing about the BP. A yummy thing to eat on the pureed stage is a soft (noodle-less) lasagna. Take a 1/4 cup (or smaller to start) of ricotta cheese. Put a few teaspoons of spaghetti sauce on, some grated parmesan cheese (or a few sprinkles of mozz), and microwave it for like 30 seconds (or longer-I can't remember). I lived on that stuff and refried beans in the beginning.
Congratulations on your post op appt!! Hubby's reaction was right on that is an amazing BP!
Ricotta mixed w/ cheesecake pudding mix and 2tbsp sour cream ~ yummy and perfect for pureed stage. I also like Tanya's ricotta suggestion. If you haven't been to www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com you gotta visit the site she's amazing and has TONS of recipes.
Looking forward to your next update.
Thanks for all of the encouragement and ideas...I can not wait until Monday for real food!!! It's not that I am hungry I am just getting really tired of liquids. I had to do them for the week before surgery too (I hadn't lost enough weight) so three weeks is a long time.....
The "lazagna" and "cheese cake" ideas sound awesome. I will be checking out that egg face website before Monday that is for sure!
