Ramblings

Just thought I would take a minute to reflect on what is happening...My DH and I have spend the last week, esp this weekend in the never ending, it seems, mucking out of 27 years of living in this house.  We are trying to "stage" it for sale, so all the personal photos, chachis, clutter, closet overload have to go and now I working on bookcases. We have painted our 2 level deck, clipped the landscaping, fixed the floor under the washer and dryer, cleaned the cellar, and the garage-not done yet, but close.  I am trying to stage the bathrooms so they "look like spa bathrooms" what??? I am exhausted and a little weepy, but today we go with a builder to look at his Post and Beam homes nearby so I think that is exciting. I had to be careful all weekend to hydrate, DH was always shoving ice tea in my hand (CLight) and saying drink. So instead of my walk, i swam 40 minutes in my pool for the first time this am, got up and went in...felt so good on my sore, tired legs and arms...gonna try to do that every morning now, maybe walk in the evening...I don't know, I feel like I am getting lots of exercise. But I think my heart needs the water...I won't have a pool in the next house...OM..hot tub I think. Anyway, I am home again today arranging furnace cleanings, and going to try to get up in my attic to see what is up there...I have a list!!! Have a wonderful day! kate

Yikes make sure you stay hydrated working in the attic. They get sooooooo Hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am sure all will work out for the best. I know it must be hard to leave the house. It takes more than a building to make a home. Hang in there and I hope you see a new house you feel you could make a home.

Busy busy! But cathartic too, isn't it? Cleaning out all that stuff. I agree with Kathy and your DH. Take a drink with you wherever you go and sip sip sip. Maybe wait and do the attic after this spell of humidity passes or bring up a small AC to stick in a window up there if you have one. When you're done, come help me pack will ya? I got over 50 free moving boxes on Craig's list and am going to start packing a few a day to get a head start on my move in October. Though I still am not sure where I will end up - Michigan or Iowa. At least you know where you are going. And post and beam sounds so lovely! Have fun looking!

Oh my, what changes you are going through!  Cleaning out a home of that long is difficult!  Make sure you are sipping all the time..don't want you dehydrated!  I can't imagine doing all that in this heat!  Good luck and keep us posted!  Ruth

Kate, How exciting. Did you see anything you liked today? The pool is great exercise. So is all the cleaning you've been doing. I don't envy you there. lol What has the water temp been in your pool? Ours is staying between 76-80. I like it a little warmer, but the kids don't seem to care. How hard it must be to be cleaning out 27 years worth of stuff. Lots of good memories there. Must be sad, but also exciting to be moving to a new place. ~dori~
