Hair loss stuff

Just some FYI........I had a chat with a lady at work this week about hair loss due to weight loss. She is a former hairdresser and still holds her hairdressing license. She said she has worked with quite a few people who have had WLS and hair loss and these were her recs:  Protein...plenty of it!  Zinc, biotin, multivitamins and plenty of water.(this, we all knew)  She also highly reccommended Nioxin (shampoo, conditioner....3 bottles of different stuff)  She says they use it with cancer patients when they have to have chemo and they lose all their hair.  She knew of some women, that as they were losing their hair from chemo, new hair was already growing in from using the stuff.  She recs that people start using it even before surgery but that it's never too late to start as it will help with regrowth.....according to her!  So, take it for what it's worth, I guess.  I just wanted to share.  BTW: the Nioxin stuff is pretty pricey if you buy it from a salon (about $40-50 for the 3 bottles).  Since she still has her hairdresser license, she's getting me some at the wholesale place for about $25.  So, if you know any hairdressers, that may be the way to go?   I'll let you know if it helps!!!!    Have a great 4th everyone!!!!!!!!   Ruth

I started taking the zinc last week 30 mg per day and I am allready noticing a difference in the amount of hair that is falling out, so I would highly recommend starting the zinc as soon as you can take supplements.  Missi
