Help? Pain

Good morning everyone! I have a question!  Last night after supper, I developed a pain in the left side of my abdomen, just between my ribs and pelvis.  It felt like a "stitch" like you get when you walk too fast or something.  I went for my walk thinking it would go away, which it didn't.  When I got home and relaxed for a while, it seemed to go away.  Been tolerating food and protein just fine.  Slept fine, left side just a little sore.  This morning, it's back.  I thought it might be gas (sorry, TMI) but everything is moving just fine.  Is this the pain in the left side we were supposed to get like 3 weeks out (from eveerything being rearranged) or do you think it's something different?  Just curious for some opinions.   If it keeps up, I'll be calling the doc, but I hate to call if it's just gas!  haha   Thanks all!   Ruth

Hey Ruth I get the same kind of pain on my right side. My PCP thinks its scare tissue forming and breaking down etc.. I had two lap abdominal surgeries within 8 month of each other. It seems to actually get worse when I start getting constipated. Or if I have not had a bm in a few days. My 6 month check up is the 10th so I will for sure get their opinion. I am thinking is is something different than the left side pain they say can happen but not sure.

Ruth~ That's the pain I've been experiencing.  They weren't able to figure it out.  I haven't called the office back but I should because it hasn't gone away.  It has gotten better but still there.  I'm trying to figure it out.  One thing I'm thinking is the grape tomatoes I've been eating on a daily basis.  I haven't had any since Wed. afternoon when I ate some for snack and was doubled over w/in 30 minutes.  Now, I'm just thinking my pouch is sore.  I'll call the office on Monday if it isn't gone by then.  I feared it was a blockage but the upper GI showed it wasn't.  I've been passing a lot of gas.  ???  I'd call though just to be on the safe side.

Hey Ruth,  I get that same exact pain, although I get it on both sides (not at the same time).  I'm pretty sure mine is gas.  It seems to come and go and walking makes it much worse.  It's weird it feel like a stitch like when you would run after eating or drinking something as a kid.  I'm not concerned because I feel fine and mine goes away.  If you are in pain Ruth you should call your Dr. especially if it doesn't go away.

So, I called and Michael the PA called me back.  It's still been hurting off and on but since I am eating and drinking fine and bowels are fine, he agrees with me that it's probably just a pulled muscle or something.  He told me to call back if I ran a temp or belly got red or anything else weird happened......so, no big deal!  Thanks for your input everyone!  Have a great weekend!  Ruth
