G'morning everyone...I'm still a bit new to this but I'm learning more and more everyday

My initial consultation and 1st support group meeting was on June 6th at EMMC. The consult. was very informative and the Support Group was amazing !! Since then I've rec'd 2 appt's for July 9th; nutritionist and physical therapist...July 31st with Dr. Fritzler @ Acadia and then Aug. 8th with the dietician. Everything seems to be moving really fast now...which is a good thing I'm sure...but I'm excited, anxious, nervous and still a bit scared all at the same time

I'm hoping this is "normal" ?? I haven't started driving my family crazy yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time

Can anyone give me a "guesstimation" on how long it usually takes to see the surgeon AFTER all the other app'ts are done ?? Just curious... Thanks... debz

All my meetings and appointments were done April thru May....at the end of May I got my surgery date.....it was 7/24/07, time will seem like it is standing still, then all of a sudden the day will be here!! And being scared is part of the process, but you will be just fine!! Best of luck to you on your journey!!

Every surgeon's practice and waiting list is different. I started with my initial consult on 12/20/07 and had surgery on 4/14/08...less than 4 months from start to finish (I had ALOT of testing to get done..ha) I'd ask the surgeon's office what their waiting list is like just to get an idea! You are started now....so time will fly!!!!! Trust me.....it doesn't seem like it...but it goes by fast!!!!!! Keep us posted! Ruth

You are going to be amazed at how fast everything happens, you will want to slow things down and catch your breath but it won't happen!! Drive us crazy instead, most have us have been in your shoes and understand the rollercoaster you have just stepped on!! I went to an info meeting in, ah,,Novemeber I think, got the list of tests necessary went to my pcp and started rolling with it, met the surgeon on Jan 11 and had surgery on March 31st, it went fast because I had so much done, and then went on 3 weeks of liquids to get the 10% weight off. We are all dif and like Ruth said, eery surgeon's office is dif, they are the ones to ask... We will support you every step of the way...

Thank You...Everyone !! Your all so amazing and I'm glad to have been given the address to this website. There was a lady at the Support Group meeting that I went to on June 6 @ EMMC...I spoke with her briefly after the meeting and she was the one who gave me the info. for this website. I do apologize because I don't remember her name

But after the 2 hour consultation and then the support group meeting afterwards...my head was reeling...so much information to absorb in a short amount of time

But again...Thank You to all of you !!
